Post-earthquake reconstruction activities
In 2008, the largest earthquake in China's history - Wenchuan Earthquake, two weeks after the disaster, I participated in the rescue operation and post-disaster reconstruction design work, this event in the second year after I just joined the architectural design profession, at that time, I remember I stood on the ruins to think about, is it the earthquake brought more harm to people, or is it the building because of underdevelopment of science and technology, backwardness of the materials, the collapse of the building brought more harm to the people. This is also one of the reasons why I have been insisting on architectural design since then. Wenchuan post-disaster reconstruction is one of the most shocking experiences in my life, and also my most valuable asset.
China High-Speed Railway Construction Campaign
2010 Participated in the construction of China's national high-speed railroad, cooperated with the Second Design Institute of the Ministry of Railways, designed Chongqing Railway Station, Chengdu Railway Station (Grade I) Qingbaijiang, Xindu, Guanghan and other high-speed railway stations (Grade III). This project is the largest public building I have ever worked on, and I am very fortunate to have encountered this type of project, which expands the boundaries of my design!
China's first public rental housing
In 2012, in order to solve the problem of high housing prices, the government attempted to build government public rental housing throughout the country to solve the housing difficulties of low-income people, the Chinese government decided to set up the first batch of public rental housing pilot projects in Chongqing after several visits to Singapore to study the implementation and use of public rental housing, I participated in the design and construction of the project, and I was responsible for the design of a group of clusters in the second batch of projects. This was a brand new attempt, as no one knew how to design public housing before this, and it was the first time I really felt the significance of architectural design: through my own wisdom and experience, I could help more people to solve their problems.
China Real Estate Standardized Design
In 2020, China's real estate industry is developing rapidly. In order to improve design efficiency and shorten the construction period, China's head real estate enterprises have put forward the concept of residential modularization and standardized design to create a residential library that meets their own standards. Honestly speaking, I don't recognize the practice of erasing design from architecture because of the interference of capital. In that crazy era, architecture was treated as a financial product rather than a work of art, and capital always cared about how the building could be constructed faster so as to get to the market, and the bank turned it into money rather than the quality of the building.
